Abstract
Suboptimal financing management is often a major obstacle in the development of Pangasius farming businesses, especially at the small and medium farmer level. This study aims to analyze the structure and components of financing for pangasius farming businesses, identify obstacles to access and management of financing, evaluate the effectiveness of implemented financial management strategies, assess the financial feasibility of the business based on economic indicators such as BEP (Break Even Point), ROI (Return of Investment), NPV (Net Present Value), and BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio), and provide recommendations for improvement strategies to increase the effectiveness of financing management. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation of 120 catfish farmers in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. The research results show that the financing structure is dominated by variable costs, particularly feed, and the majority of farmers use a combination of equity and external capital. Key constraints include low financial literacy, limited access to formal financial institutions, and the absence of systematic business records. Financial analysis showed that Pangasius aquaculture is financially feasible and profitable, with a BEP production of 1,582.90 kg, BEP price of IDR 14,839.70/kg, ROI of 80.54% per cycle, NPV of IDR 84,429,690, and BCR of 1.32. Recommendations include improving financial literacy, digitizing business records, strengthening access to People's Business Credit (KUR), and developing a cluster financing model with integrated assistance. These findings provide an important contribution to the formulation of inclusive and sustainable aquaculture financing policies.
